Well, I’m still in the depressed stage of the stages of grief/denial. Ray Allen, #20, the guy I thought was one of the classiest players in the league, decided to spit in the face of the Celtics fans. The same fans who cheered “leys go celtics” in the game 6 loss at home to the eventual champion Miami Heat.

But, before Ray Allen Benedict Arnolded Celtics fans, he was coveted by everyone. Every time he got the ball everyone in TD garden held their collective breath when he would rise to shoot that sweet jumper…and when you saw it go thru the net…BAM! The crowd would explode!

Unfortunately, Ray has been tempted by the dark side and will play against our Celtics (including KG) at the least amount, 4 times. We will see that sweet jumper, but we will see it when Lebum passes it to him. And I’m not gonna lie, I expect boo’s from the crowd.
I for one, will cheer him when they announce his name during the starting line-ups. But after that, I’m booing the heck out of him! I respect what Ray has done for us these 5 years, shooting the lights out, breaking records, game winning treys…but he not only turned his back on the rest of the big three, he turned his back on the city that loved him the most. I don’t care that Danny Ainge put him on the trading block, thats just the biz. I don’t care if he got testy with Rondo, that’s just Rondo’s greatness.

Ray Allen I do not agree with your decision at all. While I respect you as a GREAT basketball player, my respect for you as a player off the court has certainly fallen. Not to the degree like my no respect for Dwayne “Dirty Player” Wade or Metta World Dunce, but my respect for him has certainly decreased.
Well, glad I got that out of the way, So here’s a post of a mix that I thought captured Ray Allen’s career here in Bean Town perfectly. Here you go, and like the title of this article says, it is bitter sweet:
